About Peter Crouch

Peter James Crouch, born on 30 January 1981, is an English television personality and former professional footballer who played as a striker. During his career, he was capped 42 times by the England national team between 2005 and 2010, scoring 22 goals and participating in two FIFA World Cups. He is one of only 35 players to have scored over 100 Premier League goals and holds the record for the most headed goals in the league's history. Recognized for his tall stature, slender physique, aerial abilities, technical skills, and hold-up play, Crouch was a prominent figure in English football.

Crouch began his career as a trainee with Tottenham Hotspur but did not make any appearances for the club, instead spending time on loan at Dulwich Hamlet and Swedish club IFK Hässleholm. He later joined Queens Park Rangers and after their relegation moved to Portsmouth in a transfer deal worth 1.5 million pounds. His first season at Portsmouth was particularly successful, with 19 goals, leading to a transfer to Aston Villa for 5 million pounds. Following a less notable period at Villa and a loan to Norwich City, he moved to Southampton, where he regained form. This resurgence led to his transfer to Liverpool in July 2005, where he achieved significant success, winning the FA Cup and FA Community Shield in 2006 and reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2007.

Crouch scored 42 goals during his three seasons at Liverpool before rejoining Portsmouth for 11 million pounds. He later moved to Tottenham Hotspur, where he scored a notable goal against Manchester City that secured a Champions League spot for the club. In August 2011, he signed with Stoke City for a club record fee and earned several individual awards, including Stoke's Player of the Year. After seven and a half years at Stoke and later playing for Burnley, Crouch retired in July 2019.
