How industry matching works
For every industry, our AI generates a detailed vocabulary paragraph describing the topics, jargon, sub-areas, and adjacent concepts that podcasts covering that vertical would discuss. That paragraph gets embedded as a 1024-dimensional semantic vector. Every podcast in our 600,000-show catalog is embedded the same way. We compare vectors using cosine similarity. the standard for AI semantic matching. and rank shows by how closely their actual episode topics align with the industry vocabulary.
The result is meaningfully better than category-based browsing. A “fintech” pitch isn't limited to shows tagged “Business” on Apple Podcasts. It surfaces the technology shows, founder interviews, and finance podcasts whose recent episodes actually cover payments, lending, embedded finance, or banking infrastructure. Pitch the rooms where your topic lives, not the rooms where Apple's taxonomy filed your competitor.
