How Booking Probability Works

Booking Probability is a 0-100 percentage that estimates how likely a given podcast is to book you as a guest, given your specific profile, pod score, and the podcast's historical booking patterns.

What is Booking Probability?

Booking Probability is a personalized score visible to logged-in PitchCentric users. Unlike Pod Score (which measures a podcast's general outreach value), Booking Probability factors in your specific guest profile to estimate how well-matched you are for a particular show. A high Booking Probability means the show is both receptive to guest booking generally and likely to find your profile relevant to their audience.

What goes into it

Booking Probability V2 (the current version) combines four factors: Base Booking Odds (from the podcast's guest openness history, email verification status, and listen score), Topical Fit (how well your expertise topics match the podcast's category, topics, and recent episode themes), Guest Profile Completeness (a complete guest profile with bio, topics, and past appearances produces higher estimates), and Required Pod Score Gate (if the show has a Required Pod Score above yours, Booking Probability is reduced proportionally).

Interpreting the number

Booking Probability is a relative prioritization signal, not a literal percentage of pitches that will convert. A show at 85% is meaningfully more likely to book you than one at 35%, given your current profile. Treat it as a ranking tool: prioritize higher-probability shows for your outreach energy. The absolute numbers will vary by profile completeness and topic specificity.

How to improve your score

Complete your guest profile fully: bio, pitching-as description, expertise topics, speaking topics, and past appearances. The more signal your profile contains, the more accurately Booking Probability can match you. Add specific expertise topics that match actual podcast categories in PitchCentric's catalog. Past appearances on similar shows increase your credibility score, which flows through to Booking Probability.

How often it updates

Booking Probability recomputes on every page load for logged-in users, using your current profile state and the podcast's current data. There is no staleness issue; the number reflects your profile and the show's data at the moment you are viewing it.

Required Pod Score

Some shows have a Required Pod Score set by PitchCentric editors or computed from the show's guest history. Required Pod Score reflects the typical expertise and media credential level of guests booked on the show. If your Pod Score (derived from your guest profile's media presence and expertise) is below the show's required threshold, Booking Probability will reflect that gap. Required Pod Score is visible to logged-in users on each podcast page.
