Sean Sherman: podcast appearances and interviews

Sean Sherman is an Oglala Lakota Sioux chef, cookbook author, forager, and promoter of indigenous cuisine. He is the founder of The Sioux Chef, a food education business and catering service dedicated to indigenous food. Sherman also co-founded the nonprofit North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems with his former partner Dana Thompson. His work has earned several prestigious awards, including a James Beard Foundation Leadership Award. His 2017 cookbook, The Sioux Chef's Indigenous Kitchen, received the 2018 James Beard Award for Best American Cookbook. In 2022, the restaurant co-owned by Sherman and Thompson, Owamni, was awarded the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant. His efforts focus on reviving and promoting indigenous culinary traditions through education and culinary innovation.
