Ruby Wax: podcast appearances and interviews

Ruby Wax, born Wachs on April 19, 1953, is an American-British actress, comedian, writer, television presenter, and mental health campaigner. She is a classically trained actress who began her career performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Wax later gained prominence as a comedian known for her television shows which played on her American persona and comedic interviewing style. Her notable programs include The Full Wax, Ruby Wax Meets..., Ruby, and The Ruby Wax Show. She also contributed as a script editor for the BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous and appeared in two episodes. Residing in the United Kingdom since the 1970s, Wax has held both American and British citizenship. In 2013, she earned a master's degree in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy from Kellogg College at Oxford University. Two years later, she was appointed a visiting professor in mental health nursing at the University of Surrey. Her advocacy for mental health has been recognized through her appointment as an Honorary Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2015. Wax has authored memoirs including How Do You Want Me? and Sane New World, both of which reached number one on the Sunday Times bestseller list. In 2025, she participated as a contestant on the twenty-fifth series of the ITV reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, finishing in eighth place.
