Rob Howard is the CEO of Keller Williams Realty. Prior to his current role, he has been involved in various leadership positions within the real estate industry. His experience encompasses property management and strategic development within the sector. Howard's background also includes political service; he was a member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, representing the riding of Richmond Centre. He was elected in 2009 as a member of the BC Liberal Party, replacing Olga Ilich. During his tenure, he served on multiple legislative committees, including the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts and the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services, eventually serving as its chair. As chair, he supported initiatives like the establishment of the Harmonized Sales Tax. After Premier Gordon Campbell's resignation, Howard endorsed Kevin Falcon in the leadership race but later aligned with Christy Clark, who appointed him as a Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation. In this role, Howard advocated for open sky agreements and continued his advocacy through establishing the non-profit organization OpenSkies4Canada. He chose not to seek re-election in 2013 and was succeeded by Teresa Wat. Prior to his legislative career, Howard served as a city councillor in Richmond, British Columbia, for seven years. He was elected in 2001 and re-elected in 2002 and 2005, initially as a member of the Richmond Non-Partisan Association and later as part of the Richmond First Party. He sat as an independent starting in 2006. During his time on council, he supported casino expansion, the placement of the Olympic speed-skating oval in Richmond, and the development of a convention centre.
