Rachel Elizabeth Brosnahan, born on July 12, 1990, is an American actress known for her work across television, film, and theatre. She gained notable recognition for her portrayal of Midge Maisel in the Amazon Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which aired from 2017 to 2023. Her performance in this role earned her a Primetime Emmy Award in 2018 and two consecutive Golden Globe Awards in 2018 and 2019. Brosnahan has also been recognized for her portrayal of Lois Lane in the DC Universe, first appearing in the film Superman slated for release in 2025. Her television work includes Emmy-nominated roles in the political thriller series House of Cards and performances in series such as Manhattan and the comedy miniseries Crisis in Six Scenes. Her film debut occurred in the horror film The Unborn in 2009, and she has since starred in movies including The Courier, I’m Your Woman, and The Amateur.
