Nicholas Caradoc Hoult is an English actor born on December 7, 1989. His early career included performances in local theatre productions and a screen debut at the age of six in the 1996 film Intimate Relations. Hoult gained prominence with his role in the 2002 comedy-drama About a Boy and further established his reputation as Tony Stonem in the E4 teen series Skins from 2007 to 2008. Transitioning to adult roles, he appeared in the 2009 drama A Single Man and the 2010 fantasy film Clash of the Titans, demonstrating his versatility across genres. Hoult is known for his role as Hank McCoy, also known as Beast, in the X-Men film series starting with X-Men First Class in 2011. He starred as Jack in Jack the Giant Slayer and played the lead zombie in Warm Bodies, both released in 2013. His supporting roles include parts in Mad Max Fury Road and portrayals of historical figures such as Robert Harley in The Favourite and Peter III of Russia in the Hulu series The Great, which ran from 2020 to 2023. For his performance in The Great, Hoult received nominations for two Golden Globes and a Primetime Emmy Award.
