Benicio Monserrate Rafael del Toro Sánchez is a Puerto Rican actor born on February 19, 1967. He has received numerous awards throughout his career, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Goya Award, and Best Actor awards at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival. He has appeared in films that have grossed over 5.9 billion dollars worldwide. Del Toro made his film debut in Big Top Pee-wee in 1988. His breakout role was in the crime thriller The Usual Suspects in 1995, where he portrayed an unintelligible crook. He subsequently appeared in films such as Basquiat, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Snatch. In 2000, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as a police officer in Steven Soderbergh's Traffic. He was also nominated for the same award for roles in 21 Grams and One Battle After Another.
