Maya Khabira Rudolph is an American actress and comedian born on July 27, 1972. She began her television career as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live in 2000, where she was recognized for her versatile performances. During her tenure on SNL, she also appeared in supporting roles in films such as 50 First Dates, A Prairie Home Companion, and Idiocracy. After leaving the show in 2007, Rudolph expanded her filmography with appearances in movies including Grown Ups, Bridesmaids, Grown Ups 2, Inherent Vice, Sisters, Life of the Party, and Disenchanted. She has also contributed voice acting to a variety of animated films, including Shrek the Third, Turbo, Big Hero 6, The Angry Birds Movie, The Emoji Movie, and Luca. Rudolph starred in the NBC sitcom Up All Night and co-hosted the variety show Maya & Marty. Since 2022, she has served as an executive producer and star of the comedy series Loot. She has voiced characters in the animated sitcom Big Mouth, notably Connie the Hormone Monstress, earning her four Primetime Emmy Awards. Her portrayal of Kamala Harris on SNL earned her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. She also received three Emmy nominations for her role as a judge in The Good Place. In 2024, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. She is the daughter of singer Minnie Riperton and composer Richard Rudolph, and the stepdaughter of jazz singer Kimiko Kasai.
