Maureen Dowd: podcast appearances and interviews

Maureen Brigid Dowd, born on January 14, 1952, is an American columnist for The New York Times and an author. During the 1970s and early 1980s, she worked for The Washington Star and Time, where she wrote news, sports, and feature articles. In 1983, she joined The New York Times as a metropolitan reporter and became an op-ed writer in 1995. In addition to her work at The Times, Dowd became a staff writer for The New York Times Magazine in 2014. She was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 1999 for her series of columns on the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal. Her columns often explore themes related to politics, Hollywood, and gender. Her writing style has been compared to political cartoons because of its exaggerated satire of politics and culture. Some critics have characterized her writings on female public figures, such as Monica Lewinsky and Hillary Clinton, as sexist. During the 2016 presidential election, Dowd wrote a New York Times op-ed titled 'Donald the Dove, Hillary the Hawk,' which was frequently cited by critics of Donald Trump's foreign policy when he took actions that contradicted her narrative.
