William Shatner: podcast appearances and interviews

William Shatner is a Canadian actor born on March 22, 1931. He is best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise, a position he held from 1966 to 1994. Shatner made his debut as Captain Kirk in the second pilot of the first Star Trek television series and continued to portray the character in all episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series, nearly all episodes of Star Trek: The Animated Series, and the first seven Star Trek films. In addition to his work on Star Trek, he appeared as the veteran police sergeant in the television series T. J. Hooker from 1982 to 1986 and hosted the reality series Rescue 911 from 1989 to 1996. His diverse television career includes guest appearances on shows such as Columbo and roles in comedy and drama series. Shatner also starred as Denny Crane in the legal series The Practice and its spinoff Boston Legal from 2004 to 2008, earning him two Emmy Awards. Beyond acting, Shatner has pursued a recording career beginning with his 1968 album The Transformed Man, notable for vocal recitations of popular songs. His third album, Seeking Major Tom, released in 2011, features covers of iconic rock songs. In 2021, at age 90, Shatner flew into space aboard Blue Origin NS-18, becoming the oldest person to do so. He has also authored several books recalling his experiences and has continued to appear in various television projects, including his role as host of The UnXplained since 2019.
