John Boyega: podcast appearances and interviews

John Adedayo Bamidele Adegboyega, known professionally as John Boyega, is a British actor and producer born on 17 March 1992. He first gained recognition in Britain for his role as a teenage gang leader in the comedy horror film Attack the Block in 2011. Boyega achieved an international breakthrough with his portrayal of Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, and he was a cast member of the Star Wars sequel trilogy released in 2017 and 2019. He received the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2016 and was honored with the Trophée Chopard at the Cannes Film Festival the same year. Boyega's career continued to develop in 2020 when he won a Golden Globe Award for his role as Leroy Logan in the film Red, White and Blue, part of Steve McQueen's anthology series Small Axe. His work includes starring as King Ghezo in the 2022 historical action film The Woman King and playing a drug dealer in the 2023 mystery film They Cloned Tyrone. Since January 2016, Boyega has also been involved in the production side of the film industry through his independent production company, UpperRoom Productions. The company's first project was the 2018 film Pacific Rim Uprising, a sequel to Pacific Rim.
