Catherine O’Hara: podcast appearances and interviews

Catherine Anne O'Hara was a Canadian and American actress and comedian whose career spanned over 50 years. She began her career in sketch and improvisational comedy in film and television, initially gaining prominence through her starring role in the CBC Television children's sitcom Coming Up Rosie in 1975. O'Hara became well known for her work on the sketch comedy series Second City Television from 1976 to 1984, for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award. Her film appearances include notable roles in movies such as After Hours, Heartburn, Beetlejuice, Home Alone, and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. She collaborated frequently with Christopher Guest, participating in several of his mockumentary films including Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration. O'Hara also contributed voice work to animated films like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Chicken Little, Over the Hedge, Monster House, Where the Wild Things Are, Frankenweenie, Elemental, and The Wild Robot. She experienced a career resurgence with her role as Moira Rose in the CBC sitcom Schitt's Creek, which ran from 2015 to 2020. Her portrayal earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. Other television performances include appearances in Six Feet Under, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Last of Us, and The Studio. O'Hara was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2017.
