Abraham Verghese: podcast appearances and interviews

Abraham Verghese, born on May 30, 1955, is an American physician and author. He holds the positions of Linda R. Meier and Joan F. Lane Provostial Professor of Medicine, Vice Chair for the Theory and Practice of Medicine, and Internal Medicine Clerkship Director at Stanford Medical School. Verghese has written four books, including two memoirs and two novels, which have achieved bestseller status. He is also a co-host of the podcast Medicine and the Machine, produced in collaboration with Eric Topol. Throughout his career, Verghese has received numerous honors, including election to the Institute of Medicine in 2011, the 19th Annual Heinz Award in the Arts and Humanities in 2014, and the National Humanities Medal presented by President Barack Obama in 2015. In 2023, he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship and has received seven honorary doctorate degrees.
