Varun Sivaram is an American energy policy expert and author of the book Taming the Sun. He has held various roles in policy advising and clean energy entrepreneurship. Sivaram has served as a policy advisor to U.S. State Department officials including U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry. He has also worked as the chief technology officer for ReNew Power, India's leading renewable energy company. In academia, he has been on the faculty of Columbia University and has led the energy and climate program at the Council on Foreign Relations.
