Timothy Blake Nelson, born on May 11, 1964, is an American actor, director, and writer. He is often described as a modern character actor and has played a diverse range of roles in film and television. Notable acting credits include Delmar O'Donnell in O Brother, Where Art Thou?; Gideon in Minority Report; Doctor Steve Pendanski in Holes; Doctor Jonathan Jacobo in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed; Danny Dalton Jr. in Syriana; and Richard Schell in Lincoln. He also portrayed Samuel Sterns, known as The Leader, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the television series Watchmen, he played Wade Tillman, also known as Looking Glass, a performance for which he received a Critics' Choice Television Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2020. Nelson's roles extend to films like The Ballad of Buster Scruggs where he played the eponymous character, and Old Henry as Henry McCarty.
