Nicholas David Offerman, born on June 26, 1970, is an American actor, comedian, carpenter, and writer. He is best known for his portrayal of Ron Swanson on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, a role that earned him the Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy and nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Offerman's television appearances also include the second season of FX's Fargo, the FX on Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy, and the HBO drama series The Last of Us, for which he received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. He has been Emmy-nominated for roles such as Chester A. Arthur in Netflix's Death by Lightning and a former wrestler and addict in the Apple TV+ series Margo's Got Money Troubles. His film work encompasses titles like The Kings of Summer, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, The Founder, The House of Tomorrow, Hearts Beat Loud, Civil War, and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Offerman has also lent his voice to various animated projects, including Gravity Falls, The Lego Movie franchise, Hotel Transylvania 2, Ice Age: Collision Course, the Sing franchise, and the Smurfs.
