About Temple Grandin
Mary Temple Grandin, born on August 29, 1947, is an American academic, inventor, and ethologist known for her work in animal science and her advocacy for the humane treatment of livestock. She has authored more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior and serves as a consultant to the livestock industry, providing expertise on animal behavior and welfare. As one of the first autistic individuals to publicly share insights from her personal experiences, Grandin has been a prominent advocate for the neurodivergent community. She is a faculty member in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State University, where she contributes her knowledge and research. Her work and influence have been widely recognized, including her inclusion in the Time 100 list of the most influential people in 2010 under the 'Heroes' category. She was also the subject of a biographical film that earned Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
