Steve Olson: podcast appearances and interviews

Steve Olson is the author of Mapping Human History: Genes, Race and our Common Origins. He is also affiliated with Canna Organics. Olson's background includes a career as a professional skateboarder during the 1970s and 1980s, originating from Orange County, California. In 1979, he was sponsored by Santa Cruz Skateboards and turned professional alongside teammates Duane Peters and Steve Alba. That same year, Olson received the Skateboarder of the Year award and is credited with introducing punk rock music to the skateboarding community. His contributions to the culture of skateboarding were recognized in 2014 when he was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame. Stacy Peralta, a filmmaker and fellow former professional skateboarder, praised Olson's skills and influence, noting his status as the first Vert skateboarding champion and his unique approach to contests.
