Shane Doan: podcast appearances and interviews

Shane Albert Doan is a Canadian ice hockey executive and former player born on October 10, 1976. He spent his entire 21-season National Hockey League career with the franchise that began as the Winnipeg Jets in 1995 and later became the Arizona Coyotes. Doan was the last active player from the original Winnipeg Jets franchise when he retired in the summer of 2017. Throughout his career, he led the Phoenix Coyotes in scoring every season from 2003 to 2011 and became the franchise's all-time leading goal scorer in December 2015. He served as the team's captain from 2003 until his retirement, earning the nickname Captain Coyote among fans. Despite a distinguished career, Doan was unable to secure a Stanley Cup victory, with his closest attempt ending in defeat during the 2012 Western Conference Final against the Los Angeles Kings. Internationally, he represented Canada at various competitions, winning five medals at the World Championships, including two gold and three silver. He contributed to Canada's victory at the 2004 World Cup and was part of the Canadian team at the 2006 Winter Olympics. In recognition of his achievements, the Coyotes retired his jersey number prior to a game on February 24, 2019. He transitioned to a front-office role with the Coyotes on January 11, 2021.
