Chris Pronger: podcast appearances and interviews

Christopher Robert Pronger, born October 10, 1974, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman and a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee. Throughout his career, he played for the Hartford Whalers, St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, and Philadelphia Flyers. Pronger served as captain for the Blues, Ducks, and Flyers, and participated in the Stanley Cup Final with three teams, ultimately winning the championship with the Ducks in 2007. He was recognized for his exceptional performance by winning the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player for the 1999–2000 season, making him the first defenceman since Bobby Orr to receive this honor. Pronger was a consistent presence on the Canadian national team, securing Olympic gold medals in 2002 and 2010 and earning membership in the Triple Gold Club. His playing career ended in November 2011 due to post-concussion syndrome resulting from multiple hits, as well as vision impairment caused by an injury involving a player's stick. After retiring from active play, Pronger was involved with the NHL as an advisor to the Player Safety Division. Recognized as one of the 100 greatest NHL players in history in 2017, Pronger’s impact on the sport was further honored when the St. Louis Blues retired his No. 44 jersey in January 2022. His career also included multiple suspensions during his time in the league.
