Reid Wiseman: podcast appearances and interviews

Gregory Reid Wiseman, born on November 11, 1975, is a United States Navy captain, test pilot, and NASA astronaut. He was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2009 and participated in a mission to the International Space Station in 2014 as part of Expedition 40/41. Wiseman has also served as the 17th chief of the Astronaut Office from 2020 to 2022. As an accomplished pilot, he has served as a U.S. Navy fighter pilot and test pilot. In 2026, he was the commander of the Artemis II lunar flyby mission, which marked the first crewed flight around the Moon since Apollo 17 in 1972. Wiseman's role in this mission made him the first commander of a lunar flight since Gene Cernan and the oldest person to travel beyond low Earth orbit at age 50. His crew also became the humans who traveled the farthest from Earth, exemplifying significant advancements in human space exploration. His extensive experience in aviation and spaceflight has positioned him prominently within NASA's exploration efforts.
