Jeremy Hansen: podcast appearances and interviews

Jeremy Roger Hansen, born on January 27, 1976, is a colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force and an astronaut affiliated with the Canadian Space Agency. He was selected by the CSA in 2009 during the astronaut recruitment process, alongside David Saint-Jacques. Prior to joining the astronaut corps, Hansen served as a captain in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he piloted the CF-18 fighter jet at CFB Cold Lake in Alberta. He was subsequently promoted to the rank of colonel. Hansen is known for his role as a mission specialist on the Artemis II mission scheduled for April 2026. During this mission, he became the only person not from the United States to travel beyond low Earth orbit and to the vicinity of the Moon. Along with the Artemis II crew, he broke Apollo 13's distance record, marking one of the farthest journeys from Earth by humans. In July 2026, Hansen announced his retirement from the Canadian Space Agency, which took effect in September, with plans to pursue new opportunities within Canada's space program.
