Randy Newman

Randall Stuart Newman, born on November 28, 1943, is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, composer, and arranger with a career spanning several decades. Hailing from Los Angeles within a family of Hollywood film composers, Newman is recognized for his Americana-inspired songs, characterized by non-rhotic Southern-accented singing and often mordant or satirical lyrics delivered by an unreliable narrator. Since the 1990s, he has primarily focused on film scoring, notably for Disney and Pixar productions. Newman began his professional work in the early 1960s, composing incidental music for television and writing UK hits for artists such as Cilla Black, Gene Pitney, and the Alan Price Set. His association with Warner Bros. Records starting in 1966 led to the release of his self-titled debut album in 1968, and several of his compositions became chart successes for other artists, including
