N. Scott Momaday: podcast appearances and interviews

Navarre Scott Momaday was a Kiowa and American novelist, short story writer, essayist, and poet. His novel House Made of Dawn was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1969 and is regarded as the first major work of the Native American Renaissance. His work is notable for blending oral storytelling traditions with written English literary forms. Joy Harjo, the 23rd Poet Laureate of the United States, highlighted how Momaday's novel moves through a circle of storytelling that reflects Indigenous oral history while conforming to traditional American literary structures. Momaday's contributions have been recognized with the National Medal of Arts in 2007 for celebrating and preserving Indigenous oral and artistic traditions. Throughout his career, he received 20 honorary degrees from various colleges and universities, with the most recent awarded by the California Institute of the Arts in 2023. Additionally, he was a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
