Michael Voss: podcast appearances and interviews

Michael Voss, born on 7 July 1975, is a former professional Australian rules football player and coach. During his playing career, he was regarded as one of the greatest midfielders and captains of the modern era. Voss played a total of 289 games for the Brisbane Bears and the Brisbane Lions, serving as the team's longest-serving captain from 1997 to 2006. He captained the Lions to three consecutive premierships from 2001 to 2003 and received numerous individual accolades, including winning the Brownlow Medal in 1996 in a tie with James Hird, and earning the Leigh Matthews Trophy twice in 2002 and 2003. Voss was named in the All-Australian team five times and captained the All-Australian team in 2002 and 2003. His club achievements include winning the Brisbane Bears Club Champion award twice and the Brisbane Lions Merrett-Murray Medal three times. After retiring from playing, Voss transitioned to coaching, initially serving as an assistant before returning as senior coach of the Brisbane Lions in 2009. During his tenure, he guided the team to its first finals appearance since 2004, and his coaching career later included assistant coaching roles at Port Adelaide from 2015 to 2021. In September 2021, he was appointed senior coach of Carlton. He led the Blues to the 2023 preliminary final, ending a decade-long finals drought. However, after recent seasons with limited success, he resigned from his coaching position after round 9 of the 2026 season.
