Maggie O'Farrell: podcast appearances and interviews

Maggie O'Farrell is an Irish-British novelist born in 1972. Her debut novel, After You'd Gone, received the Betty Trask Award, and her subsequent novel The Hand That First Held Mine won the 2010 Costa Novel Award. She has been shortlisted twice for the same award for Instructions for a Heatwave in 2014 and This Must Be The Place in 2017. O'Farrell's memoir, I Am, I Am, I Am: Seventeen Brushes with Death, reached the top of the Sunday Times bestseller list. Her novel Hamnet was awarded the Women's Prize for Fiction in 2020 and also received the fiction prize at the 2020 National Book Critics Circle Awards. In 2025, she co-adapted Hamnet for the screen alongside Chloé Zhao and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for her work on the film.
