Robert James Ritchie, known professionally as Kid Rock, is an American musician, singer, rapper, and songwriter born on January 17, 1971. He began his career in the Detroit hip-hop scene and gained mainstream success with a rap rock sound before shifting towards country rock. Kid Rock is a self-taught musician capable of playing every instrument in his backing band and has overseen production on most of his albums.
