Julien Baker: podcast appearances and interviews

Julien Rose Baker, born on September 29, 1995, is an American indie rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her music is recognized for its moody quality and confessional lyrical style and often explores themes including Christianity, addiction, mental illness, and human nature. Baker released her debut album, Sprained Ankle, in 2015 while studying at Middle Tennessee State University. The album received critical acclaim and was featured on several year-end lists. She signed with Matador Records and released her second studio album, Turn Out the Lights, in 2017, which also gained strong critical recognition. Her third album, Little Oblivions, released in 2021, adopted a more full-band sound and became her first top 40 album on the Billboard 200 chart. In addition to her solo career, Baker is a member of the indie supergroup Boygenius, alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus. The group released its debut EP in October 2018, and they announced a reunion in January 2023. Their debut studio album, The Record, was released in March 2023, followed by their latest release, The Rest, in October 2023. Baker is also forming a country duo with Torres, which is set to debut in 2024.
