Ilan Pappé: podcast appearances and interviews

Ilan Pappé is an Israeli historian and political scientist known for his work on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. He currently serves as a professor at the University of Exeter's College of Social Sciences and International Studies, where he directs the European Centre for Palestine Studies and co-directs the Exeter Centre for Ethno-Political Studies. Pappé’s research emphasizes the events of 1948 in Palestine, which he describes as a deliberate ethnic cleansing campaign, citing Plan Dalet as a key blueprint. His notable publications include The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, A History of Modern Palestine, and Ten Myths About Israel.

Born in Haifa, Israel, Pappé was a senior lecturer at the University of Haifa from 1984 to 2007 and chaired the Emil Touma Institute for Palestinian and Israeli Studies from 2000 to 2008. In 2008, he left Israel following criticisms in the Knesset and receiving death threats. Throughout his career, Pappé has been active in Israeli politics as a member of the Hadash party and has participated in elections in 1996 and 1999. He advocates for a single democratic state for both Israelis and Palestinians and supports the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement, including an academic boycott of Israel.
