Ilan Pappe: podcast appearances and interviews

Ilan Pappé is an Israeli historian and political scientist known for his work on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and his association with the New Historians. He is a professor at the University of Exeter's College of Social Sciences and International Studies, where he directs the European Centre for Palestine Studies and co-directs the Exeter Centre for Ethno-Political Studies. His research primarily focuses on the events of 1948, particularly the Palestinian expulsion and flight, which he describes as a deliberate ethnic cleansing campaign, referencing Plan Dalet as a blueprint. Pappé has authored several notable works including The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, A History of Modern Palestine: One Land, Two Peoples, and Ten Myths About Israel. Born in Haifa, Israel, he served as a senior lecturer at the University of Haifa from 1984 to 2007 and was chair of the Emil Touma Institute for Palestinian and Israeli Studies from 2000 to 2008. Pappé left Israel in 2008 following criticism in the Knesset and the receipt of death threats. He was also active in Israeli politics as a member of the Hadash party and participated in national elections in 1996 and 1999. His advocacy includes supporting a single democratic state for Israelis and Palestinians and endorsing the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, including an academic boycott of Israel.
