Gavin Creel: podcast appearances and interviews

Gavin James Creel (April 18, 1976 – September 30, 2024) was an American actor, singer, and songwriter known for his work in musical theater. He made his Broadway debut in 2002 in the leading role of Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie and was subsequently nominated for Tony Awards for his performances as Claude in the 2009 Broadway revival of Hair and as Elder Price in The Book of Mormon. Creel starred in the original West End production of The Book of Mormon, which earned him a Laurence Olivier Award, and he also played the role in the U.S. National Tour and on Broadway. In 2017, he received a Tony Award for his portrayal of Cornelius Hackl in Hello, Dolly! on Broadway. Creel's theater credits include performances in La Cage aux Folles, She Loves Me, Waitress, and Into the Woods on Broadway, as well as Mary Poppins, Hair, and Waitress in the West End, and roles in national tours such as Fame and Into the Woods. In 2023, he premiered his self-written musical Walk on Through: Confessions of a Museum Novice Off-Broadway. Although primarily focused on theater, Creel also appeared on screen, with a notable role as Bill in Eloise at the Plaza and its Christmas sequel.
