Elaine Welteroth: podcast appearances and interviews

Elaine Marie Welteroth, born on December 10, 1986, is an American journalist, editor, author, and television host. She served as the editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue starting in April 2016, becoming the second person of African-American heritage to hold this position in the publication's history. Her promotion to editor at age 29 also made her the second youngest editor in Condé Nast's history. Prior to that, Welteroth was the beauty director of Teen Vogue, a role in which she was the first person of African-American heritage to serve. During her tenure, she is credited with increasing coverage of politics and social justice issues within the magazine, notably encouraging civic engagement among readers during the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Under her leadership, Teen Vogue expanded its format to include its first YouTube channel, covering diverse subjects such as campus style and cultural topics. The magazine's final print edition was published in December 2017. After resigning from Teen Vogue in January 2018, Welteroth moved to California and signed with CAA. She later became a judge on Project Runway when the series returned to Bravo. In 2019, she published a memoir titled More Than Enough: Claiming Space for Who You Are (No Matter What They Say). Currently, she is affiliated with Birth Fund, a venture she founded, focusing on initiatives related to birth.
