Colman Jason Domingo, born on November 28, 1969, is an American actor, playwright, and director. Since the 2010s, he has gained prominence on both screen and stage, receiving various accolades including a Primetime Emmy Award and nominations for two Academy Awards and two Tony Awards. In 2024, Time magazine named him among the 100 most influential people in the world. Domingo began his career in regional theater productions before making his way onto Broadway, performing in Well (2005), Passing Strange (2008), and Chicago (2010-2011). His involvement in the original Broadway and West End productions of The Scottsboro Boys earned him a Tony Award nomination in 2011 and a Laurence Olivier Award nomination in 2014. In addition to acting, Domingo authored the book for Summer: The Donna Summer Musical in 2018 and co-produced Fat Ham in 2023, a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet that was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play. His television roles include Victor Strand in the AMC series Fear the Walking Dead from 2015 to 2023 and Ali Muhammad, a recovering drug addict, on HBO’s Euphoria from 2019 to 2026, for which he received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2022. He also earned nominations for supporting roles on Netflix's The Four Seasons in 2025. In film, Domingo received consecutive Oscar nominations for portraying civil rights activist Bayard Rustin in Rustin (2023) and a prison inmate in Sing Sing (2024). His other notable film appearances include Lincoln, The Butler, Selma, If Beale Street Could Talk, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Zola, The Color Purple, and Michael.
