Caitlyn Marie Jenner, born William Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949, is an American media personality and retired Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete. Jenner played college football for the Graceland Yellowjackets before suffering a knee injury that required surgery. Encouraged by Olympic decathlete Jack Parker's coach, L. D. Weldon, she competed in the decathlon for six years, culminating in winning the men's decathlon event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. During this achievement, she set a third consecutive world record and gained recognition as an all-American hero. Beyond her athletic career, Jenner established herself in television, film, writing, auto racing, business, and modeling, notably appearing on the cover of Playgirl. Jenner has six children with three wives, including Chrystie Crownover, Linda Thompson, and Kris Jenner. She also appeared in the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians from 2007 to 2021 alongside Kris Jenner and her children and stepchildren. In April 2015, Jenner publicly came out as transgender and announced her new name in July of the same year. She starred in the reality series I Am Cait from 2015 to 2016, which documented her gender transition. Recognized at the time as the most famous transgender woman in the world, Jenner is a transgender rights activist, although her opinions on transgender issues have faced criticism from some LGBTQ+ activists. A member of the Republican Party, she ran in the 2021 California gubernatorial recall election, finishing 13th with one percent of the vote. Subsequently, she was hired by Fox News as an on-air contributor.
