Joe Rogan: podcast appearances and interviews

Joseph James Rogan Jr. is an American podcaster, sports commentator, comedian, actor, and former television host. He is known for hosting The Joe Rogan Experience, one of the most popular podcasts globally, which has been the most streamed on Spotify since 2020. Rogan was born in Newark, New Jersey, and began his comedy career in 1988 in the Boston area. After moving to Los Angeles in 1994, he signed an exclusive developmental deal with Disney and appeared as an actor on television shows such as Hardball and NewsRadio. In 1997, he began working for the UFC as an interviewer and color commentator. Rogan released his first comedy special, I’m Gonna Be Dead Someday, in 2000 and hosted the reality game show Fear Factor from 2001 to 2006. Following his departure from Fear Factor, he focused on stand-up and comedy specials. In 2009, he launched The Joe Rogan Experience, which gained immense popularity by 2015, attracting millions of listens per episode. Spotify acquired exclusive distribution rights for the podcast in 2020 for 200 million dollars, and in 2024, Rogan renewed his deal with Spotify for an estimated 250 million dollars. Rogan's perspectives include support for same-sex marriage, recreational drug legalization, universal health care, and free speech, while opposing cancel culture and military intervention. He has faced criticism for promoting conspiracy theories, COVID-19 misinformation, and hosting guests with pseudoscientific views. Politically, Rogan has shown varied support, endorsing Ron Paul in 2012, Bernie Sanders in 2020, and Donald Trump in 2024, though he has also voiced criticism of some of Trump’s policies.
