Bernhard Langer is a German professional golfer born on August 27, 1957. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he was one of the world's leading golfers and is a two-time Masters champion. In 1986, Langer became the sport's first number one ranked player following the creation of the Sony Ranking, now known as the Official World Golf Ranking. He is one of five golfers to have won professional golf events on all six continents where golf is played and has secured victories across all the major tours. His wins include 42 on the European Tour, which is the second most all-time, three on the PGA Tour, and numerous international victories on tours such as the Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour, Australasian Tour, and the Tour de las Américas. Langer's career highlights include his victory at the 1985 Masters Tournament, where he won by two strokes, and his second Masters win in 1993. He also finished as a runner-up at The Open Championship on two occasions. Notably, in 2020, he became the oldest player in Masters history to make the tournament cut at age 62 years and 7 months. After turning 50, Langer established himself as the most successful player on the PGA Tour Champions, with a record 12 senior major championships, most career wins, and seven consecutive seasons as the money leader. He is the only player to have achieved the current career Senior Grand Slam and has secured multiple senior major titles, including the U.S. Senior Open in 2010 and 2023.
