Gary James Player, born on November 1, 1935, is a retired professional golfer from South Africa who is widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time. Throughout his career, he won over 160 professional tournaments across six continents, including nine major championships. Player achieved significant milestones by winning major titles at the 1959 Open Championship, the 1961 Masters Tournament, the 1962 PGA Championship, and the 1965 U.S. Open, making him the first non-American to complete the career grand slam.
