Anderson Cooper: podcast appearances and interviews

Anderson Hays Cooper, born on June 3, 1967, is an American broadcast journalist and political commentator. He is known for anchoring the CNN news program Anderson Cooper 360° and has built a reputation for on-the-ground reporting of breaking news events. Cooper's coverage of significant events such as Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 Haiti earthquake has earned him numerous awards, including 18 Emmy Awards, two Peabody Awards, and an Edward Murrow Award from the Overseas Press Club. His reporting on the Haiti earthquake was recognized by the Haitian government with the National Order of Honour and Merit. Cooper's career began after graduating from Yale University in 1989, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He traveled extensively, producing footage of war-torn regions for Channel One News before joining CBS News as a correspondent and serving as a producer and reporter for 60 Minutes for two decades. He joined CNN in 2001, where he has hosted his own show since then. In addition to his work at CNN, Cooper hosted the syndicated daytime talk show Anderson Live from September 2011 to May 2013. As a member of the Vanderbilt family, he publicly came out as gay in 2012, becoming a prominent LGBT figure in American media. He made history in 2016 as the first openly LGBT person to moderate a presidential debate and has received several GLAAD Media Awards for his advocacy and reporting.
