Is this movie ready for Primetime? | Filmmaker Perspective

  Sep 29, 202611 min

In one of my most anticipated movies of the year, Robert Pattison plays Chris Hansen from To Catch a Predator in the new movie Primetime. The first narrative feature from documentarian Lance Oppenheim, it explores the behind the scenes world of To Catch a Predator, and examines what it takes to compete in Primetime. Split between Robert Pattison as Chris Hansen, Merritt Wever as the producer, and Skyler Gisondo as Decoy Dan, this movie has been getting serious buzz out of the fall film festivals.Introduction - 0:00Mythos of Chris Hansen - 0:45Three Hander - 3:12It works so well yet falls short - 6:41Leaderboard - 9:24I'm Cory of Cory Baker Filmmaker and I'm a Writer, Director, and On Set Sound Mixer in Los Angeles, CA with more than a decade of experience helping bring movies and television to life. Is Resident Evil worth watching if you haven't played the games? | Filmmaker Perspective

  Sep 22, 202613 min

To say I was surprised when I heard Zach Cregger, director of Weapons and Barbarian was going to the world of IP with a new Resident Evil movie would be an understatement. Despite no previous interest in Resident Evil as a video game or a movie, I felt like this was going to be different, and I'm so glad I saw it.In this episode of the Filmmaker Perspective, I talk about why it worked so well, how this could be a new way to approach certain video game properties for movie adaptations, and heap praise on Zach Cregger and Austin Abrams.Introduction - 0:00Masterclass in pace and tone - 0:43Zach Cregger - 4:33Austin Abrams - 8:30Leaderboard - 11:10I'm Cory of Cory Baker Filmmaker and I'm a Writer, Director, and On Set Sound Mixer in Los Angeles, CA with more than a decade of experience helping bring movies and television to life. One Night Only and the need for more rom coms | Filmmaker Perspective

  Aug 11, 202612 min

In an alternate reality, the US Government has banned pre-marital relations, and permits people One Night Only to make the most of it. It's the premise for the new romantic comedy "One Night Only" starring Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner and despite there talents and chemistry, the movie has trouble holding up the myriad of questions I'm sure you already have. Despite it all, I make the case that we really need more rom coms in a time like this and how this is one of them. I was worried I'd Hate Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey | Filmmaker Perspective

  Jul 22, 202614 min

It is time for the latest from Christopher Nolan, and I was worried I wouldn't like this movie. It is nothing against Nolan, but I have never enjoyed sword and sandal movies and I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy The Odyssey no matter how well made it was. Could Matt Damon and the star studded cast change my mind? How about the overwhelming talent and ability from the crew? Could the genre affect it's score on the leaderboard? Is there a chance it could potentially lead in Oscar nominations and I don't enjoy it?Intro - 0:00Nolan and the achievement - 1:07The Cast - 5:02It's place in history - 8:25The Leaderboard - 12:32I'm Cory of Cory Baker Filmmaker and I'm a Writer, Director, and On Set Sound Mixer in Los Angeles, CA with more than a decade of experience helping bring movies and television to life.
