Heywood Woody Allen (born Allan Stewart Konigsberg) is an American filmmaker, actor, writer, and comedian with a career spanning more than seven decades. He has contributed to film, television, and theater through his writing and directing. Allen holds the record for the most wins and nominations for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, with three wins and sixteen nominations. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards including four Academy Awards, ten BAFTA Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Grammy Award, as well as nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Tony Award.
