Vivek Ramaswamy is an American entrepreneur and politician who is the co-founder and executive chairman of Strive Asset Management. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Indian immigrant parents, he earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Harvard University in 2007 and a Juris Doctor from Yale University in 2013. Ramaswamy began his career as an investment partner at a hedge fund before founding Roivant Sciences, a biotechnological pharmaceutical company, in 2014, where he served as chief executive officer until 2021. In 2022, he co-founded Strive Asset Management, an investment firm. As of July 2026, Forbes estimated his net worth at three billion dollars, largely stemming from his biotech and financial ventures. Ramaswamy became active in political discourse around 2020, supporting Donald Trump in the presidential election and becoming an active donor to the Republican Party. He authored the book Woke Inc in 2021 and has publicly discussed policies associated with the political right. He briefly considered running for the U.S. Senate in Ohio in 2022. Ramaswamy has entered the 2024 presidential race as the youngest candidate in the Republican primaries but withdrew and endorsed Donald Trump. He is the Republican nominee for governor of Ohio in the 2026 gubernatorial election, with endorsements from both Trump and the Ohio Republican Party.
