Vincent Jamal Staples, born on July 2, 1993, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. He first gained recognition through collaborations with Odd Future members and affiliates, appearing on projects such as Earl Sweatshirt's Earl and Doris, Mike G.'s Ali, and The Jet Age of Tomorrow's Journey to the 5th Echelon. Prior to releasing his own music, Staples signed with Talib Kweli's Blacksmith Records and later with No I. D.'s ARTium Recordings, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings. His debut extended play, Hell Can Wait, was released in 2014 to critical acclaim and marked his entry onto the Billboard 200 chart.

Staples's debut studio album, Summertime '06, was released in 2015 and featured the platinum-certified single Norf Norf. He has since released several albums including Big Fish Theory, FM!, Vince Staples, and Ramona Park Broke My Heart. His sixth album, Dark Times, was released in 2024 and was his final project with Def Jam. In 2026, he released Cry Baby as an independent artist on Loma Vista Recordings. His music is primarily classified as West Coast hip-hop and often features conscious subject matter, with production that experiments with elements of avant-garde, dance, and electronic music.

Beyond his solo career, Staples is part of the California-based hip-hop trio Cutthroat Boyz. He has also appeared in film and television as an actor and voice artist, with credits including Dope, Mutafukaz, American Dad!, Lazor Wulf, Abbott Elementary, and White Men Can't Jump. In 2015, he became the spokesperson and brand ambassador for Sprite. In 2024, Staples created and starred in The Vince Staples Show on Netflix, which was renewed for a second season before being canceled in 2026.
