Jermaine Lamarr Cole is an American rapper, record producer, and Director of College Counseling affiliated with Dreamville. Born on January 28, 1985, on a military base in Germany and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cole initially gained recognition with the release of his debut mixtape, The Come Up, in 2007. He attended college in New York City with the aim of advancing his musical career and signed with Jay-Z's Roc Nation in 2009. This partnership led to the release of subsequent mixtapes, The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights, which contributed to his broader acclaim. Cole's studio albums have achieved commercial success, with each peaking at the top of the US Billboard 200. His debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, was released in 2011, followed by critically acclaimed records such as Born Sinner and Forest Hills Drive. His work explores conscious and introspective themes and has produced multiple chart-topping singles. Besides his recording career, Cole is a self-taught pianist and acts as a producer for his projects and other artists, including Kendrick Lamar and Janet Jackson. Through Dreamville Records, he has signed notable artists such as JID, Ari Lennox, Bas, and EarthGang, and released several successful albums, including Revenge of the Dreamers III.
