Tracy-Ann Oberman, born on 25 August 1966, is an English actress, playwright, and narrator. She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and spent four years performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company before joining the National Theatre. Her theatrical credits include appearing with Kenneth Branagh in David Mamet's Edmond in 2003 and participating in a West End revival of Boeing-Boeing from 2007 to 2008. She also performed in Earthquakes in London in 2011 as Sarah Sullivan. Oberman has an extensive radio career, with over 600 radio plays since the mid-1990s, and has contributed to radio sketch shows. In addition to her stage work, she has appeared in numerous television programs including Doctor Who, Mistresses, Robin Hood, and Doctors. Her TV credits also encompass Casualty, Kiss Me Kate, The Bill, Bob Martin, Lenny Henry in Pieces, Big Train, and Toast of London. She had recurring roles in the comedy-drama series New Tricks as Fiona Kennedy and appeared in Tracey Ullman's Show and Tracey Breaks the News. Oberman is known for her roles as Chrissie Watts in EastEnders and Valerie Lewis in Friday Night Dinner. As a writer, she co-authored the play 3 Sisters on Hope Street with Diane Samuels and wrote and starred in radio plays such as Bette and Joan and Baby Jane, Rock and Doris and Elizabeth, and Mrs. Robinson, I Presume. She has contributed as a columnist to The Guardian and The Jewish Chronicle and has contributed to Red magazine.
