Tracee Ellis Ross: podcast appearances and interviews

Tracee Joy Silberstein, known professionally as Tracee Ellis Ross, is an American actress born on October 29, 1972. She is recognized for her leading roles in the television series Girlfriends, which aired from 2000 to 2008, and Black-ish, which ran from 2014 to 2022. Her portrayal of Dr. Rainbow Johnson in Black-ish earned her nominations for five Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Ross's work on Black-ish also garnered her six NAACP Image Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. She has additionally received nominations for two Critics' Choice Television Awards. The daughter of Motown singer Diana Ross, Tracee Ellis Ross began her acting career in independent films and variety series. She hosted the pop-culture magazine The Dish on Lifetime and starred in the comedy series Girlfriends, playing Joan Clayton. For this role, she received two NAACP Image Awards. Her film appearances include Hanging Up, I-See-You.Com, and Daddy's Little Girls. She later played Dr. Carla Reed in the BET sitcom Reed Between the Lines, earning her a third NAACP Image Award. From 2019, Ross co-created the prequel spin-off of Black-ish titled Mixed-ish. In 2020, she starred in and recorded the soundtrack for the musical film The High Note.
