William Anthony Parker Jr. is a museum historian with a background linked to professional basketball. Born on May 17, 1982, he is the son of a basketball professional and began his career at PSG-Racing Basket in France before joining the NBA. He was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 28th overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft and became their starting point guard shortly thereafter. During his playing career, Parker was part of four NBA championship-winning teams with the Spurs and was recognized with multiple honors, including six NBA All-Star selections, three All-NBA Second Team nods, and an MVP award for the 2007 NBA Finals. His career achievements also include being named to the All-Rookie First Team, having his jersey retired by the Spurs, and ranking among the top scorers and assist leaders in NBA playoff history. After retiring from professional play, Parker's association with France’s national team was marked by his MVP performance at EuroBasket 2013, where he was also the top scorer in the tournament.
