Tony Danza, born Anthony Salvatore Iadanza on April 21, 1951, is an American actor and retired professional boxer. He has appeared in several notable television series, including Taxi from 1978 to 1983 and Who's the Boss? from 1984 to 1992. For his role in Who's the Boss? he received nominations for an Emmy Award and four Golden Globe Awards. In 1998, Danza was awarded the People's Choice Award for Favorite Male Performer in a New Television Series for his work on the 1997 sitcom The Tony Danza Show. His career also includes appearances in films such as The Hollywood Knights, Going Ape!, She's Out of Control, Angels in the Outfield, Crash, and Don Jon. Aside from his acting career, Danza is also known for his background as a professional boxer before transitioning into entertainment.
