Daniel Michael DeVito Jr. is an American actor and filmmaker born on November 17, 1944. He is recognized for his short stature, raspy voice, distinct accent, and energetic comedy roles. DeVito gained prominence for his portrayal of Louie De Palma, a taxi dispatcher, in the television series Taxi, which aired from 1978 to 1983. His performance on the show earned him both a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award. Since 2006, he has played the character Frank Reynolds on the FX/FXX sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

DeVito's film career includes notable roles in movies such as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Terms of Endearment, Romancing the Stone, The Jewel of the Nile, Ruthless People, Throw Momma from the Train, Twins, The War of the Roses, Batman Returns, Jack the Bear, Junior, Matilda, L.A.
